Retail Food Group Limited (RFG) has released its 1H25 interim financial results, reporting a strong performance across its core Coffee, Café & Bakery (CCB) brands. Domestic Network Sales grew 3.2% on 2H24 to $257.1m, driven by the company's CCB brands such as Gloria Jean's, Donut King, Brumby's, and Beefy's. Underlying Revenue increased 24.7% on the prior corresponding period (PCP) to $66.5m, generating Underlying EBITDA of $16.0m, up 4.2% on PCP. Statutory NPAT for 1H25 was $7.3m, up 73.8% on PCP. The company also announced a significant development, signing a 20-year agreement with Restaurant Brands International (RBI) to introduce the Firehouse Subs brand to Australia. RFG plans to open 165 Firehouse Subs outlets in the first 10 years, with the first restaurant expected to open in 1H FY26. The sandwich category in Australia is estimated to be worth over $1.7bn and continues to grow, making it an attractive opportunity for RFG. The company is focused on enhancing its core brands through prioritizing retailing excellence and technology, as well as growing its domestic and international network, including the new Firehouse Subs brand.
RFG has committed to investing US$4m for each of the first three years to fund the rapid growth of the Firehouse Subs brand in Australia, increasing to US$5m in years 4 to 6.
RFG is clear on its priorities: to enhance its core brands through prioritizing retailing excellence and technology to expand them to at least 200 domestic outlets for each brand, and to grow its network domestically in core brands, including via the new Firehouse Subs agreement, as well as internationally with Gloria Jean's and Donut King.
