Full Summary

Acusensus Limited's revenue for the half-year ended 31 December 2024 totalled $28.8 million, an increase of 16.4% compared to the prior corresponding period. The increase in revenue was largely due to the commencement of a South Australia fixed mobile phone detection contract, increased scope from existing customers, growth from international markets, and inflation-based increases in selected existing contracts. Despite the revenue growth, the company generated an operating loss after income tax expense of $0.5 million, up 111.7% from the prior period, due to lower other income and higher operating expenses as the business invested for future growth. Acusensus was awarded, expanded or extended a number of new material contracts since 1 July 2024, including a $9.4 million contract with the Western Australia Road Safety Commission, a NZ$92 million contract with the New Zealand Transport Agency Waka Kotahi, and a $27.4 million expansion of its existing contract with the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads. The company's international business contributed 7% of group revenue for the first half of FY25 and is expected to undergo a large step change once the New Zealand mobile speed contract is fully mobilised. The company also continued to invest in research and development, with significant advances in road worker safety technology, impaired driving detection, and railway safety monitoring solutions.
