Kingsland Minerals dispatches Leliyn graphite bulk sample for testing
- Bulk sample of Leliyn graphite concentrate sent to Germany for extensive metallurgical tests
- Tests will underpin economic studies on Leliyn graphite production
- Approvals for additional metallurgical drilling submitted
Kingsland Minerals Ltd has announced that it has dispatched a bulk sample of graphite concentrate from its Leliyn Graphite Project in the Northern Territory to ProGraphite GmbH in Germany for extensive metallurgical test-work. The total test-work program is anticipated to take about five months and will include initial material analysis, spherical graphite test work, purification of the spherical graphite, and electrochemical characterisation. The results of this test-work, combined with an upcoming Mineral Resource update, will enable Kingsland to commence a scoping study into establishing a graphite mining and processing operation at Leliyn. Kingsland has also submitted approvals for additional metallurgical drilling to provide more material for further testing. The company remains well-funded to advance the Leliyn project following a strategic investment and binding offtake agreement with Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners. Kingsland is well-placed to capitalise on the growing push in the US to reduce reliance on China for specialty metals, including graphite, following a recent determination by the US International Trade Commission.
Kingsland is focused on progressing the Leliyn Graphite Project, with the upcoming metallurgical test-work and Mineral Resource update expected to underpin a scoping study on graphite production. The company remains well-funded and is well-positioned to benefit from the strengthening supply sentiment for specialty metals like graphite.
