Key points

  • Gold Assays up to 14.85 mg/kg
  • Copper Assays up to 10.88mg/kg
  • Assays from further testing of Phase 1 Seaweed grown using clean, filtered seawater

Full summary

BPH Global Ltd (ASX: BP8) has announced the latest laboratory assay results from its ongoing R&D program conducted by Temasek Innovation Holdings Pte Ltd (TPIH) and Gaia Mariculture Pte Ltd. The results show exceptional gold and copper levels in the Sesuvium Portucalastrum seaweed cultivated in the first phase of the program using clean, filtered seawater from Sentosa Island. Gold assays were as high as 14.85 mg/kg, and copper assays reached 10.88 mg/kg. These findings build on the previously identified cobalt and silver levels. The company is now shifting focus to Phase 2, which will involve cultivating the seaweed in the brackish, polluted waters of Johor, Malaysia to test the hypothesis that seaweed can act as a 'sponge' for base and precious metals in dirty, polluted waters. Further updates on the Phase 2 cultivation and assay cycle will be provided.

Outlook

The company will provide further updates regarding the Phase 2 cultivation and assays cycle, which will focus on testing the seaweed's ability to absorb higher mineral concentrations in polluted waters.
