Brickworks reports strong H1 2025 results

Brickworks Limited (ASX: BKW) reported a strong financial performance for the half year ended 31 January 2025. Statutory Net Profit After Tax (NPAT) including significant items was up 141% to $21 million, while Underlying NPAT before significant items was up 308% to $76 million. Group Underlying Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortisation (EBITDA) was $148 million, compared to a loss of $40 million in the prior corresponding period. The Property division performed particularly well, with EBITDA up 121% to $38 million. Rental income increased 8% to $88 million, and the value of the Property Trust assets was $1.99 billion. The Investments division EBITDA was down 4% to $73 million, while Building Products Australia EBITDA was down 4% to $50 million and Building Products North America EBITDA was down 115% to a loss of $3 million. Operating cash flow was up 11% to $59 million, and the company declared a fully franked interim dividend of 25 cents per share, up 4% from the prior year. The company also reported significant items of $55 million, including a non-cash impairment loss of $55 million for the Brickworks North America Cash Generating Unit and legal costs of $13 million related to proceedings against BGC (Australia) Pty Ltd and Midland Brick Pty Ltd.
