The Lottery Corporation Limited (TLC) today announced that Managing Director and CEO, Ms Sue van der Merwe, has informed the Board of her intention to retire by the end of the 2025 calendar year. The TLC Board congratulates Ms van der Merwe on her long and successful career in lotteries which has spanned almost 35 years, including the past three years as the Managing Director and CEO of TLC. The Board will immediately commence a comprehensive process to select a new Managing Director and CEO, which will include a global search and an evaluation of internal and external candidates. Ms van der Merwe will work with the Board to ensure a smooth transition. Ms van der Merwe expressed that leading TLC over the past three years has been a privilege and she is exceptionally proud of the results the team has delivered. She was fortunate to find her passion at an early stage in her working career, and the close to 35 years she's spent in the lottery industry, culminating in leading TLC, has been an incredible career journey. TLC Chairman, Dr Doug McTaggart, commented that Sue has played an instrumental role in the success of the lottery industry in Australia over more than three decades, and her deep experience and expertise have helped TLC to become the leading operator of lottery and Keno games in Australia and one of the best performing lottery businesses in the world.
