Universal Biosensors Inc. (ASX: UBI) has announced that John Sharman has decided to step down from the Managing Director and CEO role for personal reasons, effective April 1, 2025. Sharman has led the business for 5 years, transforming UBI from an R&D and engineering-focused company to a customer-centric and product commercialization-focused organization. Under his leadership, UBI has developed and launched market-leading and world-first innovative products as a global leader in portable electrochemical analyzers. Sharman has a 6-month notice period and will act as an Advisor to the Company during this time. The company is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Mullin as the new Managing Director and CEO, effective April 1, 2025. Mullin joined UBI as Finance Director and CFO in December 2024, following a long history as an active investor in the company. Mullin brings deep experience from an outstanding career of executive leadership in diverse industries such as manufacturing, banking, stock broking, and superannuation. Chair Graham McLean expressed gratitude for Sharman's dedication and commitment to UBI over the last 5 years and stated that Mullin's broad set of leadership, financial, and sales skills and experience will enable the next phase of growth for the company as it penetrates global markets with its strong portfolio of world-first, innovative, hand-held technologies.
