Monash IVF Group Limited (ASX: MVF) has confirmed an incident at its Brisbane clinic where the embryo of one patient was incorrectly transferred to another patient, resulting in the birth of a child. The company's focus is on supporting the affected patients through this distressing time. Since becoming aware of the incident in February 2025, Monash IVF undertook an initial investigation and found it was due to human error. To identify any further safeguards that may be recommended, Monash IVF has commissioned Fiona McLeod AO SC to conduct an independent investigation into the incident. Monash IVF is committed to implementing all recommendations from this independent investigation. The company has also disclosed the incident to the relevant assisted reproductive technology (ART) regulators and voluntarily reported it to the new Queensland ART regulator. Monash IVF conducts regular compliance audits and adheres to strict laboratory safety measures to safeguard and protect the embryos in its care. The company has notified its insurers and does not currently consider the incident as material to FY2025 financial performance.
