EcoGraf Limited has announced significant progress in the development of its battery anode materials business, with its Product Qualification Facility (PQF) delivering results that meet the highest customer specifications for purified spherical graphite (SPG). The company's HFfree® purification technology has achieved extremely high purification levels of 99.99% carbon and low levels of impurities, enabling the production of SPG that meets the stringent requirements of major battery manufacturers. EcoGraf also reported that IP Australia has accepted the company's second HFfree® purification patent application, which will now proceed to grant. This second patent will provide broader protection for EcoGraf's innovative purification technology, which is applicable across a range of battery anode and high-purity graphite products, as well as the recycling of lithium-ion battery anodes. The company is continuing discussions with auto OEMs, battery manufacturers, and potential supply chain customers, seeking to qualify its product samples with leading battery groups globally. EcoGraf's vertically integrated battery anode materials business, which starts with high-quality natural flake graphite from its Epanko Project in Tanzania, is expected to provide significant customer cost and environmental benefits. The positive support from the Australian Government, through the Critical Minerals Development Program, has been well received, with EcoGraf receiving $2.9 million in grant funding for the PQF program.

EcoGraf expects customer adoption of new non-Chinese demand to significantly grow from the beginning of 2027 in Europe and North America, driven by increasing EU and US Government legislation.
