Stellar Resources Advances Heemskirk Tin Project in Tasmania
- Prefeasibility Study activities on track, including drilling, metallurgical, mining and ore sorting studies
- Drill program generates highly encouraging results at Queen Hill deposit, including wide high-grade tin intersections
- Ore sorting test work demonstrates potential to significantly increase head grade and tin recovery
Stellar Resources Limited (ASX: SRZ) has reported on the activities and progress made during the March 2025 quarter for its 100% owned Heemskirk Tin Project in Western Tasmania. Key achievements include ongoing Prefeasibility Study (PFS) activities aimed at advancing the project towards development ready status and the company's goal of becoming a potential top 10 global tin producer. The infill and extensional drill program is providing confidence for conversion of Inferred resource tonnes to the Indicated category, including wide high-grade intercepts at the Queen Hill deposit that are wider than the existing resource model. Ore sorting test work on the Severn deposit has generated excellent results, demonstrating the ability to materially increase the head-grade by rejecting around a third of the mass while achieving over 95% tin recovery. Similar test work is now underway on samples from the Queen Hill deposit. The results of these activities indicate significant upside potential for the Heemskirk project compared to the base case evaluated in the updated Scoping Study completed in September 2024. Stellar is progressing the PFS, which will investigate increased mining rates, optimized plant size and capacity, incorporation of ore sorting, and the application of mining paste/fill as an alternate to tailings deposition.
Stellar Resources is focused on rapidly advancing the Heemskirk Tin Project towards development ready status and its goal of becoming a potential top 10 global tin producer.
