- Mahalo Gas Hub pipeline connection FEED commenced with Jemena
- Mahalo East pilot test performing strongly with increasing gas flows
Comet Ridge Limited has provided an update on the progress of its Mahalo Gas Hub projects in Queensland. The Mahalo Joint Venture, in which Comet Ridge holds a 57.14% interest, has progressed with Front End Engineering Design (FEED) for the Gas Compression Facility, with Santos as the Development Operator. FEED for the Water Handling Facility is also underway, and all other disciplines are progressing smoothly. The Mahalo Joint Venture participants have commenced Pipeline FEED with Jemena to construct a new 10-inch pipeline to connect the Mahalo Gas Hub with Jemena's Queensland Gas Pipeline and the GLNG pipeline. The Mahalo East pilot test has been performing strongly, with increasing gas flows recorded during the dewatering phase. The Mahalo North EPBC referral is ongoing through the Federal Government, with Comet Ridge focused on continuing water sampling and monitoring. Comet Ridge has also been engaging with third parties during the quarter in relation to a range of possible transactions, including project funding, additional gas supply, and prepayment arrangements.
Comet Ridge plans to continue progressing the Mahalo Joint Venture and its other Mahalo Gas Hub projects, including the Mahalo East pilot test and the Mahalo North EPBC approval process. The company is also prioritizing gas sales agreements and funding arrangements to support the development of the Mahalo JV Gas Project.
