Smartpay Reports Strong FY25 Results, Enters NZ Acquiring Market
- 8.5% consolidated revenue growth to $104.7m
- EBITDA of $16.6m, impacted by $4.9m investment in NZ
- Commenced NZ acquiring pilot, acquired NZ terminal contracts
Smartpay Holdings Ltd has reported its audited full year results for the 2025 financial year, reflecting ongoing execution and growth in the Australian market despite a challenging economic environment. Consolidated revenue increased by 8.5% to $104.7m from $96.5m in FY24. EBITDA of $16.6m reflects the company's $4.9m investment in pre-launching its acquiring solution in the New Zealand market, compared to $21.3m in FY24. The company also continued to invest in the modernisation of its core platforms and technology infrastructure, setting the foundation for future product roadmaps and customer solutions, and ensuring appropriate compliance and security. Early in the financial year, Smartpay began deploying its next-generation Android terminal in Australia, followed by the New Zealand market towards the end of the year as it commenced the pilot of its New Zealand acquiring solution. The company also completed the acquisition of customer contracts from a New Zealand terminal competitor, adding scale to its existing NZ business and further potential to its acquiring opportunity in the country. Smartpay has maintained its measured approach to investment, leveraging operating cash flows and available debt facilities to position the business for both short-term tactical opportunities and longer-term strategic potential.
Smartpay's attention and conviction for FY26 and beyond will remain focused on executing against the opportunities it has in its sights and its strategic goal to further leverage its unique position in the trans-Tasman payment market and provide additional value and benefit to its customers and business through a common platform across both Australia and New Zealand.
