Atlas Pearls Ltd (ASX: ATP) has provided an update on an auction held in Kobe, Japan on 3-4 June 2025. The auction realised sales of 75,803 pearls at an average price of $86/piece, generating total revenue of $6.5 million. The average index point per pearl sold was 21.16, with the average $/index point increasing to $4.08 from $4.00 in the previous auction in April 2025. The company's internal Index Point system is used to assess the quality of pearls based on shape, grade, size, and colour, enabling consistent comparison of auction results. While the June 2025 auction featured less premium-grade pearls than the April 2025 auction, the higher average $/index point indicates the continued strength of the market and demand for Atlas Pearls' quality South Sea pearls. A total of 82,820 pearls were presented, with 7,017 pearls withheld from sale as the company assessed these lots had the potential to realise more value through alternative sales channels. The company remains focused on maximizing the value of every pearl produced, consistent with its strategy to optimize returns across all sales platforms. The result of the June 2025 auction was pleasing and reflects the continued pricing stability observed across the market over the past 18 months. The event was well attended on-site, with strong participation from remote bidders, further validating the effectiveness of Atlas Pearls' hybrid auction model and its ability to enhance global buyer engagement.
The next major auction will be held in Kobe in September 2025. Atlas Pearls continues to sell and grow its sales into wholesale, value-added, and a small, but growing, retail channel.
