EMVision Awarded $5m Non-Dilutive Government Grant
- EMVision awarded $5m non-dilutive grant from Australian Government
- Grant to accelerate global commercialisation of EMVision's First Responder portable brain scanner
- First Responder device designed to enable earlier diagnosis and triage for stroke and traumatic brain injury
EMVision Medical Devices Limited (ASX:EMV) has been awarded an Australian Government Industry Growth Program (IGP) Commercialisation and Growth Grant of $5 million in non-dilutive funding to accelerate the global commercialisation of EMVision's First Responder portable brain scanner. EMVision's CEO Scott Kirkland welcomed the funding support, stating that the First Responder device is a genuine world-first product with the potential to transform the landscape of pre-hospital stroke and traumatic brain injury care. The device is designed to be easily carried and operated by paramedics and first responders at the scene, enabling earlier diagnosis and triage, transfer or treatment decision making. In both stroke and traumatic brain injury, time is a critical determinant of outcome, and the First Responder device aims to help save time and, in turn, save lives and reduce disability. Clinician and industry feedback on the device, both in Australia and internationally, has been very encouraging, with healthcare professionals recognising its advanced development stage and unique value proposition. The grant from the highly competitive IGP program is seen as a strong endorsement of the product's value proposition and tremendous commercial potential.
The $5 million non-dilutive grant from the Australian Government will be used to accelerate the global commercialisation of EMVision's First Responder portable brain scanner. The grant is expected to be received over the period leading up to the anticipated project completion date of 22 May 2027.
