QPM Energy Limited (ASX:QPM) has provided an update on the commissioning of the Townsville Power Station (TPS). Since the previous update on 23 July 2025, the gas turbine and generator have successfully completed a number of extended runs at full load. Over three consecutive runs from Saturday 26th to Monday 28th July, a total of 4,708MWh (before transmission losses) was generated and dispatched into the National Electricity Market. Ratch Australia Corporation anticipates completing the final commissioning works over the next few days before handing dispatch control to QPM under the new Dispatch Agreement. The new gas transportation and storage agreement with North Queensland Gas Pipeline will also commence at that time. QPM has a substantial volume of gas stored in the North Queensland Gas Pipeline which, together with field production, will enable the TPS to be dispatched for extended periods to take advantage of electricity market pricing over the near term.
