The Board of Lakes Blue Energy has provided an update on the drilling operations at the Wombat-5 well in the Gippsland Basin, Victoria. As of 8:00am AEST this morning, the well has reached a depth of 1,099 mRT (MD) in the Latrobe Group, with 179 m of progress made in the last 24 hours. The drilling contractor is currently running back to the bottom of the well after conducting a wiper trip back to the 9-5/8' casing shoe to ensure the hole is in good condition prior to kicking off and building inclination out to approximately 88° at a depth of 1,548 mRT (MD), where the 7' casing will be set and cemented in place before commencing drilling the horizontal production hole through the Strzelecki Formation. The target formation depth is 1,360 mRT (TVD). The company has reported 0 LTIs (Lost Time Incidents) during the drilling operations so far.
