Tomingley Exploration Intersects Significant Gold at El Paso
- Drilling at the El Paso prospect intersected significant gold intercepts, including 8.2 metres at 3.74 g/t Au
- Exploration also identified new areas of gold mineralization between El Paso and Peak Hill
- 2,000 metres of diamond core drilling is planned to further define an exploration target for El Paso
Alkane Resources Ltd has reported the latest exploration results for the Tomingley Gold Project in New South Wales. Exploration has focused on defining targets that will add to the resource inventory and extend the mine life for the Tomingley Gold Operations. Drilling at the El Paso prospect, 2km south of the San Antonio deposit, comprised four diamond core drill holes and intersected significant gold mineralization, including 8.2 metres at 3.74 g/t Au and 32.1 metres at 1.65 g/t Au. The mineralization is associated with a prospective dacite unit which is geochemically identical to the dacite unit hosting high-grade mineralization in the southern part of the San Antonio deposit. 17,000 metres of air-core drilling has also identified new areas of gold mineralization between El Paso and Peak Hill, including at the El Paso SE, Jounama and Westray prospects. Planned exploration around Tomingley for the next 12 months includes a high-resolution drone magnetic survey, mapping, soil sampling and air-core drilling at various prospects, as well as 6,000 metres of RC and diamond core drilling to test targets at El Paso, El Paso SE, Tomingley Two, Glen Isla and Westray. In parallel, a significant underground drilling program is testing targets at McLeans, Roswell North and the Roswell Western Monzodiorite.
Alkane plans to continue exploring at Tomingley within its approved mining areas and regionally, seeking to add further mine life, scale, and grade to the Tomingley Gold Operations.
