Multiple New Drill Targets Identified at 8 Mile
- First RC hole at 8 Mile intersected gold mineralization in multiple zones
- Remaining two RC holes were disappointing, but multiple shallow aircore gold results suggest potential for significant gold mineralization
- Infill gravity and sub-audio magnetics surveys planned to refine additional drill targets
Miramar Resources Limited (ASX:M2R) is pleased to provide an update on exploration activities at the 8 Mile prospect, part of the Company's flagship Gidji JV Gold Project located approximately 15 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie. The first reverse circulation (RC) hole at 8 Mile had previously intersected gold mineralisation in multiple zones and ended in gold mineralisation. All results from the drilling programme have now been received, and the Company is currently preparing geophysical work programs to refine additional drill targets. Although the results of the remaining two RC holes were disappointing, several targets have already been identified for infill geophysical surveys followed by further RC and/or diamond drilling. Along with the deeper intersections in hole GJRC029, the company has multiple shallow aircore gold results at 8 Mile suggesting the potential for significant gold mineralisation extending north from 8-Mile Dam. Miramar plans to use infill gravity and sub-audio magnetics surveys to refine these targets before conducting further drilling. The 8 Mile prospect is seen as an exciting target with the potential for significant gold mineralisation, as evident by the neighbouring 8-Mile Dam deposit, but with minimal deep drilling to date.
The company is planning an infill gravity survey and/or a detailed sub-audio magnetic (SAM) survey to help target further RC and/or diamond drilling at the 8 Mile prospect within the Gidji JV Gold Project.
