On 20 August 2025, KPMG was appointed as the joint and several voluntary administrators of Universal Biosensors Pty Limited (UBS), a subsidiary of Universal Biosensors Inc (ASX: UBI). The administrators, David Hardy, James Dampney and Emily Seeckts, now control the assets, trading, and day-to-day operations of UBS, with the priority being to undertake an immediate assessment of the business and its operations. The administrators' current intention is to continue to trade UBS while this urgent assessment is undertaken and options for its sale and/or recapitalisation are explored. Any interested parties wishing to submit a sale or recapitalisation proposal for UBS' business and assets are encouraged to contact the administrators. A first statutory meeting of UBS' creditors will take place on 29 August 2025 at 10:30am AEST. The directors' powers of UBS have been suspended with immediate effect.
