Full Summary

Meteoric Resources NL (ASX: MEI) has provided an update on the approvals process for its Caldeira Ionic Clay Rare Earth Project in Brazil. The company has been informed of an irregularity that occurred during a vote of the Council of Management of the Pedra Branca Conservation Area (CONGEAPA), where a member representing the Caldas Municipal Council for Environmental and Development (CODEMA) voted contrary to the council's written instructions to vote in favor of the consent. The Caldas City Hall has subsequently declared the vote invalid and the matter is under review. Meteoric has received written public support from the Caldas Mayor, Ailton Goulart, and the municipal body CODEMA. The company continues to work closely with the Mayor and Municipal Bodies to ensure procedural compliance and a timely resolution. The Minas Gerais Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has confirmed that the vote of CONGEAPA will not impact the analysis of the Preliminary Environmental Permit (LP) for the Caldeira Project, and the timeline for the project's development remains on track. Meteoric's Managing Director, Stuart Gale, stated that the company remains confident of project timelines, supported by the strong working relationship with the Mayor of Caldas and the EPA's confirmation that the LP approval timeline will not be affected.

Outlook

Meteoric continues to progress all key approval processes and workstreams, including development of a Pilot Plant, to ensure delivery of the Caldeira Project, which remains one of the highest-grade Ionic Absorption Clay (IAC) Rare Earth Element (REE) deposits in the world.
