29Metals Limited has provided an update on the approvals process for a long-term Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) at its Capricorn Copper operation. The company has submitted an application for TSF 3 to the Department of Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation (DETSI), which has been confirmed as being properly made. This progress means the application will now move to a detailed assessment phase, ahead of any requests for additional technical information and a public notification period. Commenting on the announcement, Chief Executive Officer James Palmer stated that the submission of the TSF application follows extensive engagement with the Queensland Government, particularly DETSI, to ensure the application was fit to progress through the approvals process. The CEO expressed the company's commitment to continuing constructive engagement with DETSI and all other stakeholders as the approval process moves forward. A long-term tailings storage solution and further reductions in water levels at the Capricorn Copper site remain key priorities to enable a future successful and sustainable restart of operations. The CEO noted that one more successful wet season is expected to be required to further reduce water levels, and that today's milestone represents significant progress in relation to the tailings approvals.
29Metals is focused on securing a long-term tailings storage solution and reducing water levels at the Capricorn Copper site, which are key priorities to enable a future successful and sustainable restart of operations at the site.
