Bathurst Resources Ltd has released its consolidated financial statements for the year ended 30 June 2025, along with an independent auditor's report from KPMG. The auditor's report states that the consolidated financial statements present fairly the Group's financial position as at 30 June 2025 and its financial performance and cash flows for the year ended on that date, in accordance with New Zealand Equivalents to International Financial Reporting Standards (NZ IFRS). The key audit matters identified by the auditor include the assessment of recoverability of mining assets and the rehabilitation provision. For the mining assets, the auditor performed procedures to verify mining permit and resource consent conditions, compare future coal price assumptions, challenge the discount rate, and assess the accuracy and completeness of any impairment write-offs. For the rehabilitation provision, the auditor obtained an understanding of the key controls, agreed cost estimates to underlying support, assessed the independence and competence of experts used, and tested the mathematical accuracy of the provision. The auditor concluded that the disclosures in the financial statements were appropriate.
