 Production Uplift Project Interim Results
Key Points
  • Field work confirmed presence of scale in the Odin wells and surface pipeline and Vali-2
  • Total Odin and Vali raw gas production of 2.9 MMscfd following acid treatment to remove scale
  • Phase 2 work on Vali-wells to commence in September, subject to contractor availability
Full Summary

Metgasco Ltd (ASX: MEL) has provided an update on the results from the completed elements of the Production Uplift Program (PUP) at the Odin and Vali gas fields. The first phase of the program confirmed the presence of widespread scale in the Odin wells, the associated facility, and Vali-2. Removal of the scale using acid treatment has proven to be effective, with Odin-1 and Odin-2 returning to production at improved raw gas flow rates. At Vali-1, the opening of the Sliding Sleeve Door (SSD) over the Toolachee Formation did not yield measurable gas flow, potentially due to scale development, which will be addressed in the second phase of the program. Vali-3 was reperforated and swabbed, with some produced gas observed, indicating potential to reinstate gas flow. The joint venture will continue to evaluate longer-term solutions for these fields. Phase 2 of the program, which includes work on Vali-2 and Vali-1 to address Toolachee Formation production, as well as dewatering of Vali-3, is expected to commence in September, subject to contractor availability. The overall program is on budget, and the potential for significant uplift in production remains.

Guidance

The joint venture is targeting a sustained increase in raw gas production from the Odin and Vali gas fields, with the potential to increase current gas production to existing gas customers and associated revenue.

Outlook

The joint venture will continue to evaluate appropriate longer-term solutions for the Odin and Vali gas fields, including further field appraisal and ultimate development, to realize the remaining potential benefits from the Production Uplift Program.
