Diamond drilling commences at Sybil Epithermal Au
- Diamond drilling commences - 14 diamond holes (~1,135m) planned at Francis Creek
- Ongoing field work - Detailed drone magnetic survey over the broader Sybil region will commence in October 2025
- Concurrent drilling at Liontown North - 650m diamond hole currently in progress
Sunshine Metals Limited (ASX:SHN, 'Sunshine') has commenced diamond drilling at Sybil, part of the Ravenswood Consolidated Project. The diamond drilling program (14 holes, ~1,135m) is targeting low sulphidation, epithermal gold mineralisation in the A Vein and Main Vein at Francis Creek. Little historic drill core is preserved from Francis Creek and the program will provide vein orientation, thickness and compositional information critical to targeting in the region. Rock chip samples at surface provide evidence of mineralisation along ~300m of strike extent on the A Vein. Select holes will also intersect the Main Vein, which has seen limited historic drilling. The program is likely to complete in early October 2025. Concurrent with the drilling, a drone magnetic survey will be conducted in October 2025 providing detailed data that will assist in regional targeting and structural interpretation. Sybil is located 135km west of Townsville and ~140km north of Charters Towers and is a situated on a large (>40km) long extensional structure infilled with Permian-Carboniferous volcanics. Initial rock chip sampling, stream sediment sampling and detailed mapping have been completed at several prospects. Historic drilling has largely focussed on Francis Creek and Quartz Ridge whilst the majority of Sybil remains highly underexplored. Sunshine believes Sybil is highly prospective for Pajingo style gold mineralisation and remains underexplored.
Sunshine has a busy period ahead including the completion of the Sybil drilling program in early October 2025, the release of Liontown Au metallurgy results and Resource upgrade in August-September 2025, and the release of VTEM results for the Coronation area in September 2025.
