Ardea Resources Limited (Ardea) provides an update on the key activities and timing at the Kalgoorlie Nickel Project (KNP) - Goongarrie Hub as part of the ongoing Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS). The DFS, with a budget of $98.5M, is being managed by Kalgoorlie Nickel Pty Ltd (KNPL) and funded by Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd (SMM) and Mitsubishi Corporation (MC). Ardea advises that the DFS schedule for the Goongarrie Hub has been updated, with completion now forecast for mid-2026 due to the cumulative effect of minor delays across several work streams. The original completion date was December 2025. Key updates include: Geology & Mining - Majority of field work completed, with drilling programs totalling 727 RC holes and 32 DD holes. Domain interpretations for Big Four, Scotia Dam, and Highway deposits completed, with Goongarrie South and Hill interpretations advanced. Process Plant & NPI - 60% design review of process plant completed, with 3D model finalized. Lycopodium progressing H2S plant design. NPI includes test pumping of first project borefield and aquifer modelling. Permitting and Approvals - Environmental baseline surveys being expanded, and heritage clearance required for next borefield testing. Despite the delays, the DFS has highlighted potential opportunities to further optimize process operating parameters.
KNPL is working to prioritize critical path work streams and minimize schedule delays, while maintaining the high-quality study required for the major, long-life Goongarrie Hub project. Ardea and the Consortium continue to collaborate on the development of the project.
