1414 Degrees Retains Full SiBox Value Following Woodside Collaboration
- 1414 Degrees successfully completed all technical milestones under the SiBox Development Agreement with Woodside
- Woodside will retain a non-exclusive SiBox licence rather than converting funding into equity
- The SiBox IP remains wholly with 1414 Degrees, preserving the full potential upside of the technology
1414 Degrees Ltd (ASX: 14D) has successfully completed all the technical milestones under the SiBox Development Agreement with Woodside Energy Technologies Pty Ltd. Woodside has decided to retain a non-exclusive SiBox licence, enabling it to exploit the SiBox technology, rather than converting its funding into equity in a special purpose vehicle and negotiating certain commercial arrangements to support the joint development and commercialisation of the SiBox intellectual property (IP). Importantly, the IP developed under the collaboration remains wholly with 1414 Degrees, preserving the full potential upside of the technology for the Company and its shareholders. 1414 Degrees continues to advance multiple streams of commercialisation for SiBox, including Heat-as-a-Service (HaaS) models for industrial customers and opportunities within the Aurora Energy Precinct. The Company is also progressing discussions with industrial operators seeking cost-competitive, decarbonised heat. Separately, 1414 Degrees is continuing its collaboration with Woodside and other companies and institutions to develop the SiPHyR turquoise hydrogen technology.
With demand for long-duration energy storage growing globally, SiBox is positioned as a critical enabler of industrial decarbonisation and renewable integration.
