Locksley Paves Pathway to 100% Made in America Antimony
Key Points
  • Excellent metallurgical recoveries ranging between 82.9% and 85.9%, validating the Mojave project can deliver the feedstock required for a domestic antimony supply chain
  • Recovery rates confirm Locksley's pathway to 100% Made in America Antimony, aligned with U.S. government priorities for critical mineral supply security
  • High-grade initial rougher concentrate of up to 59.6% Antimony indicates natural liberation of antimony minerals
Full Summary

Locksley Resources Ltd has reported excellent metallurgical recoveries ranging between 82.9% and 85.9% from initial testwork on samples from the Mojave Project's Desert Antimony Mine (DAM) Prospect. The results validate that the Mojave Project can deliver the feedstock required to underpin a domestic mine-to-market antimony supply chain, directly aligned with U.S. government priorities for onshore critical mineral supply security. The metallurgical testwork program, overseen by specialist consultants, involved a series of six flotation tests on a 23.1kg composite sample grading 9.6% antimony. The results demonstrate the potential to produce a high-grade antimony concentrate, with an initial rougher concentrate achieving up to 59.6% antimony. This indicates the antimony minerals liberate naturally from the initial grind, and further regrinding and cleaning is expected to achieve a high-grade concentrate at high antimony recovery. The company plans to conduct further testwork to improve stibnite recovery and concentrate grade, with the goal of targeting a final concentrate grade of over 50% antimony. Locksley will also provide a sample of the concentrate to Rice University to commence Deep Eutectic Solvent extraction testwork using the DeepSolv™ methodology, as well as investigate options to use the concentrate in a pilot test to produce antimony metal ingot, antimony oxide and antimony trisulphide.

Outlook

Locksley Resources is optimistic that with further metallurgical testwork, they will be able to improve on the already high-quality first-pass outcome, rapidly advancing their strategy to provide onshore supply of antimony to the U.S. market.
