Acusensus Limited (ASX:ACE), a technology company designing and developing artificial intelligence-enabled road safety solutions, has announced a pivotal moment in the progression of its US business with the execution of a contract with the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) to supply automated speed enforcement in work zones. The contract requires up to 15 transportable (trailer and/or vehicle) speed enforcement cameras to be deployed, with the initial units expected to go live in November 2025 and the remainder in early 2026. Under the contract, Acusensus is also required to perform image review services, including licence plate lookups and the preparation of violation notices to be mailed to speeding drivers. The contract value is expected to total US$22.6 million (approximately AU$34 million) over the five-year term and includes provisions that are customary for a program of this type in the state. Revenue is earned predominantly through fixed monthly fees and per deployment fees. Acusensus is well placed to deliver the program in Connecticut with its capable US operations and manufacturing team, complemented by an experienced transition-in team who have successfully mobilised similar programs for the company recently, such as the New Zealand nation-wide speed enforcement program.
