Gold-Silver-Copper Drilling underway at Mt Carrington
- High-grade gold mineralisation confirmed at Mascotte prospect
- Drilling commenced at Battery prospect to test porphyry copper-gold targets
- Extensive zones of elevated gold, copper and silver identified through soil sampling
Legacy Minerals Holdings Limited (ASX: LGM) is pleased to advise that drilling has commenced at key regional targets across its Mt Carrington Project in NSW and encouraging rock chip and soil sampling assays have been returned at the Battery and Mascotte prospects. At the Mascotte prospect, recent rock chip samples have confirmed the potential for high-grade gold-silver mineralisation, with results up to 11.2g/t Au, 42.6g/t Ag and 1.2% Zn. Historical drilling at Mascotte focused on the main line of workings and was shallow (less than 70m deep), with the remaining ~1.3km trend of historical workings untested. The Mt Carrington Project contains 24Mozv of silver within the overall resource of 1.2Moz AuEq. Drilling has now commenced at the Battery prospect, targeting potential porphyry copper-gold and related breccia mineralisation identified by CRA (Rio Tinto) in 1992 but never drilled. Soil sampling programs across the Battery and Mascotte prospects have delineated extensive zones of elevated Au, Cu and Ag as well as other pathfinder elements, highlighting priority targets for the current drilling program.
This drilling at the Battery and Mascotte prospects forms part of the first phase of regional plans to test these and other targets across the Mt Carrington Project portfolio over the coming months. This drilling is being completed in parallel to the Scoping Study work on the Mt Carrington Project, and the company looks forward to updating shareholders on these activities and those across the broader portfolio.
