BPH Global Ltd (ASX: BP8), a leading commercial seaweed research, development and export company, has supplied two new sample batches of naturally growing seaweed to Marchwood Laboratory Services Pte Ltd (MLS) under their existing Master Services Agreement. The samples were collected from the eastern and western ends of the Johor Strait, a brackish waterway separating Singapore and Malaysia that is characterized by both industrial activity and heavy maritime traffic. Marchwood will conduct detailed mass-spectrometry assays on the seaweed batches to determine concentrations of four minerals (gold, silver, copper, and nickel) and four rare earth elements (Lanthanum, Terbium, Yttrium, and Neodymium). The study will evaluate mineral and REE concentrations in seaweed from environmentally influenced waters, building on prior results that demonstrated seaweed's capacity to bio-accumulate minerals in proportion to environmental contamination. Assay results are expected within 5-7 business days of sample receipt. The data will directly inform BP8's ongoing work in developing scalable, seaweed-based solutions for mineral recovery and environmental remediation.
