Delorean Applies for Practical Completion on Yarra Valley Water Bioenergy Facility
- Delorean has formally notified Yarra Valley Water for 'Practical Completion' of the Lilydale bioenergy facility construction
- The facility will process 55,000 tonnes of organic waste annually, generating 39,000 kWh of renewable electricity per day
- Practical Completion triggers the release of Delorean's performance guarantees and the start of the $8 million Operations & Maintenance contract
Delorean Corporation Limited (ASX: DEL) has formally notified and requested Yarra Valley Water for 'Practical Completion' of the construction of the Yarra Valley Water's Lilydale bioenergy facility in Victoria. The notification and request made by Delorean under the terms of the contract with Yarra Valley Water demonstrates that Delorean is satisfied it has completed all construction elements necessary for the bioenergy facility to run in Island Mode, prior to the grid connection scheduled for 2H FY26. Once Practical Completion is granted, it triggers the release of Delorean's performance guarantees and the commencement of the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) phase of the contract, valued at approximately $8 million over the initial two and half year term. The Yarra Valley Water Lilydale facility will process an average 55,000 Tonnes per annum of organic waste through anaerobic digestion to produce renewable baseload electricity. This will supply Yarra Valley Water's adjacent sewage treatment plant and recycled water pump station, with surplus exported to the grid. The facility also produces a biofertiliser by-product to be repurposed for agricultural land use.
