Theia Infill Drilling Identifies Broad Zones of High-Grade Gold
- Assay results received for 29 holes (3,233m) of ongoing 99-hole (10,000m) infill RC program at Theia Deposit
- Broad zones of high-grade gold mineralisation a regular feature
- Program aims to increase drill density to potentially support Measured Resource classification
Astral Resources NL (ASX: AAR) has reported assay results for a further 29 holes (3,233 metres) of an ongoing 99-hole (10,000-metre) infill reverse circulation (RC) drill program being undertaken at a 12-metre by 12-metre drill density on the flagship Theia Deposit, part of the 100%-owned Mandilla Gold Project near Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. The results continue to demonstrate a strong correlation with the current Theia Mineral Resource Estimate of 33.3Mt at 1.1g/t Au for 1.15Moz of contained gold. Significant intersections include 14 metres at 6.89g/t Au, 14 metres at 4.10g/t Au, 24 metres at 2.24g/t Au, and 21 metres at 2.26g/t Au. The 10,000-metre infill program, which is now approximately 75% complete, aims to increase the drill density of a panel of the Stage 1 Theia Pit to a potentially Measured Resource classification level. Additionally, a 3,000-metre diamond drilling program has commenced to test for high-grade structures within the Theia deposit and potential parallel mineralised structures at depth. The results continue to provide Astral with confidence in the robustness of the Theia Mineral Resource Estimate and the company's plans to progress the Mandilla Gold Project into production.
The Mandilla Pre-Feasibility Study, announced on 25 June 2025, outlined a project with a Net Present Value (8% discount rate) of $1.4 billion at a gold price of A$4,250/oz, increasing to $2.9 billion at A$6,250/oz. The study incorporated four open-pit mines at Mandilla, including the Theia deposit, producing 95koz per year for the first 12 years.
Astral Resources is currently operating three rigs at the Mandilla Gold Project, with the infill RC drilling program at Theia nearing completion. Following this, the rig will be relocated to the Feysville Gold Project to undertake a 7,000-metre program, designed to extend the Kamperman deposit and follow up areas of gold anomalism identified by historical drilling.
