Audeara secures maiden purchase order for China hearing aid market
- First order for 1,000 hearing aid technology licence keys from Eastech subsidiary
- Products to be sold under third-party brand via leading Chinese e-commerce platforms
- Marks significant milestone in Audeara's global expansion and entry into major market
Audeara Limited (ASX: AUA) has announced that it has received its first purchase order under an established Licensing Agreement with Eastech (Huizhou) Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Eastech Holding Limited (TWSE: 5225). The initial order is for 1,000 hearing aid technology licence keys, marking the first commercial traction with the counterparty and an important step in Audeara's entry into the Chinese hearing aid market. Under the terms of the Licensing Agreement, Audeara will provide its proprietary technology and engineering services to Eastech for use in the design and manufacture of hearing devices. The final products will be sold through a third-party purchaser and distributed via leading Chinese e-commerce platforms such as Tmall, JD.com, and Pinduoduo, with the potential to reach millions of Chinese consumers. China represents a substantial long-term growth opportunity for Audeara, with an estimated 426.5 million people affected by hearing loss in 2019, a figure projected to reach 561 million by 2034. The licence keys will now be sent to Eastech's facilities in China, ahead of the first production run in the coming weeks, prior to a broader product launch during Q4 CY2025. Audeara's CEO and Managing Director, Dr James Fielding, stated that securing this first order is a significant milestone for the company, demonstrating the commercial traction of its technology and the strength of its collaboration with Eastech in bringing personalised hearing solutions to one of the largest healthcare markets in the world.
Audeara looks forward to providing additional updates on sales volumes and revenue contribution as the partnership with Eastech progresses. The financial impact of this initial order is not considered material in isolation, with future financial impact depending on the level of market uptake and the volume of subsequent orders.
