Metallium delivers major US expansion and strategic partnerships
- Awarded first US Department of Defense contract for gallium recovery
- Executed MOU with Glencore for e-scrap feedstock and product offtake
- Expanded US footprint with exclusive options in Massachusetts and Virginia
Metallium Limited (ASX: MTM) reported another milestone quarter, with key highlights including the award of its first US Department of Defense (DoD) contract for gallium recovery, the execution of an MOU with Glencore for e-scrap feedstock supply and product offtake, the expansion of its US footprint with exclusive options in Massachusetts and Virginia, and continued progress on the construction of its first commercial production facility in Texas. The company's US subsidiary, Flash Metals Texas, secured a Phase I SBIR contract with the DoD to demonstrate domestic gallium recovery using Metallium's Flash Joule Heating (FJH) technology. This represents formal recognition of Metallium's role in rebuilding resilient, onshore processing capability for critical materials essential to defense, energy and advanced manufacturing. Metallium also executed an MOU with Glencore, one of the world's largest recyclers of end-of-life electronics, to supply e-scrap feedstock and purchase up to 75% of the Stage-1 output from the Texas plant. This validates Metallium's technology and underpins the supply and revenue readiness for its first commercial facility. Additionally, the company secured exclusive options over fully-permitted sites in Massachusetts and Virginia, establishing Metallium's first three-state network in the US. Construction progress at the Texas plant remains on track for commissioning in December 2025, with key equipment ordered and site upgrades advancing. Metallium also made significant advancements in its rare earth element (REE) initiatives, including a binding collaboration with Ucore to integrate FJH with RapidSX separation technology and an expanded research partnership with Rice University targeting direct REE separation.
Metallium is well-positioned to deliver meaningful scale and long-term value for shareholders as it executes on its US commercialisation strategy, with first revenues on the horizon and a growing pipeline of strategic partners.
