- Astral's subsidiary Feysville Gold Pty Ltd signs land use agreement with Marlinyu Ghoorlie Native Title Claimant Group
- Agreement covers key Feysville Gold Project tenements, including the 85,200oz Think Big Gold deposit
- Paves the way for grant of mining lease and responsible development of Think Big deposit
Astral Resources NL (ASX: AAR) has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Feysville Gold Pty Ltd, has executed a Land Use Agreement with the Marlinyu Ghoorlie Native Title Claim Group. The agreement covers tenements M26/846 and L26/295, which encompass the Think Big deposit within Astral's 100%-owned Feysville Gold Project near Kalgoorlie. The Land Use Agreement outlines a cooperative framework for reconciliation, cooperation and partnership between the Marlinyu Ghoorlie and Astral to develop and conduct their relationship in the spirit of goodwill, mutual respect and mutual recognition of their respective interests. The purpose of the agreement is to facilitate ongoing engagement, minimize the impact on heritage sites, provide opportunities for Marlinyu Ghoorlie participation, and provide compensation benefits. The agreement paves the way for the grant of a Mining Lease and provides a strong foundation for Astral to progress the responsible development of the Think Big deposit under a proposed joint venture agreement with Mineral Mining Services Pty Ltd. Under this agreement, MMS will fund 100% of the development costs for Think Big, which will be recovered from initial project cash flows. The Think Big deposit hosts a Mineral Resource Estimate of 2.4Mt grading 1.1g/t Au for 85,200 ounces of contained gold, and was previously forecast to contribute approximately 30,000 ounces of gold production to Astral's Mandilla Gold Project life-of-mine plan.
The land use agreement with the Marlinyu Ghoorlie provides a clear and cooperative framework for the responsible development of the Think Big deposit, safeguarding Aboriginal cultural heritage and laying the foundations for Marlinyu Ghoorlie's participation. This agreement underscores Astral's commitment to maintaining close and collaborative relationships with stakeholders, and provides a strong platform for Astral to execute definitive agreements for the Think Big development joint venture.
