Activeport Group Ltd (ASX: ATV) announces the integration of NBN circuit provisioning into its Global Edge network-as-a-service platform. Currently providing enterprise circuits through the Fibreconnx network in Sydney and Melbourne, Global Edge now extends national connectivity, enabling data access to virtually any location in Australia. The addition of NBN expands this platform's scope, allowing customers to establish connections across the country with enhanced efficiency and reach. The Global Edge portal supports self-provisioning of NBN services, providing comprehensive access throughout Australia. The platform combines Fibreconnx's scalable, on-demand bandwidth in high-density Sydney and Melbourne locations with NBN's broad national footprint. Activeport leverages Managed Networks' NBN POI backhaul, underpinned by Superloop (and others') fibre for connectivity to 121 points of presence, enabling nationwide service without additional capital investment or operational overhead. The collaboration with Managed Networks also implements advanced APIs and automation for expedited NBN deployment and support. The integration allows Activeport to migrate its 1,600 ISP customers from an off-net provider to Activeport's on-net NBN, improving margins by 25% on $1.9M in annual revenue. Global Edge also links to Activeport's Singapore Network-to-Network Interchange, enabling international telcos to procure circuits to any Australian destination.
Activeport aims to position Global Edge as the premier solution for global telcos to acquire, integrate, and manage circuits between overseas origins and Australian destinations or vice versa. International operators often face challenges acquiring connectivity without strong local market knowledge; Global Edge addresses this by simplifying purchasing and automating network management.
