Benz Acquires Final 25% Interest in Eastmain and Ruby Hill
- Benz acquires remaining 25% interest in Eastmain Gold Project for C$1 million
- Benz acquires remaining 25% interest in Ruby Hill East and West properties for C$100,000
- Benz grants Eastmain a 1% NSR royalty on the Ruby Hill properties
Benz Mining Corp. (TSXV: BZ, ASX: BNZ) has acquired the remaining 25% interest held by Fury Gold Mines Limited (TSX: FURY; NYSE-A: FURY), indirectly through its wholly owned subsidiaries Eastmain Mines Inc. (EMI) and Eastmain Resources Inc. (ESI), in the Eastmain Gold Project and the Ruby Hill East and Ruby Hill West properties. For the Eastmain Gold Project, Benz made a C$1 million payment, of which C$750,000 was in cash and C$250,000 was through the issuance of 171,142 common shares. Benz also granted EMI a 2% net smelter return (NSR) royalty, of which Benz can purchase 1% for C$1.5 million. The Eastmain Gold Project remains subject to pre-existing royalties, including a 2.3% NSR royalty and a 2% NSR royalty. For the Ruby Hill properties, Benz made a final cash payment of C$100,000 to acquire the remaining 25% interest and granted Eastmain a 1% NSR royalty, of which Benz can purchase 0.5% for C$500,000. The combination of any enforceable pre-existing royalties and the Additional NSR Royalty cannot result in a royalty burden greater than 2.5% NSR on the Ruby Hill properties.
The acquisition of the remaining interests in the Eastmain Gold Project and Ruby Hill properties consolidates Benz's ownership of these assets, strengthening its position in the James Bay District of Quebec.
