Ravensthorpe Gold Project Advances Following Key Permitting Milestone
- Ravensthorpe Gold Project (RGP) has advanced to final stage of assessment under the EPBC Act
- Decision on the proposed action expected during December 2025
- Approval under the EPBC Act is the key primary approval required to progress Medallion's sulphide production strategy
Medallion Metals Limited has announced that the Ravensthorpe Gold Project (RGP) has advanced to the final stage of assessment under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act), administered by the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW). RGP (project 2024/10045) is being assessed on Preliminary Documentation. Following the conclusion of a 20-business day public comment period, which concluded in September with no comments received, the Company has lodged all additional information required to inform DCCEEW's assessment and recommendation to the Minister. Under the EPBC assessment framework, a decision is required within 40 business days of final documentation being accepted. Subject to no requests for additional information, Medallion anticipates an assessment decision in December 2025. Approval under the EPBC Act is the key primary environmental approval outstanding for the proposed development of RGP in conjunction with processing at Forrestania. With State permitting already well advanced for both Ravensthorpe and Forrestania, this approval will be critical in determining the development timeline, subject to completion of the proposed Forrestania acquisition. Further secondary approvals will also be required under State (WA) legislation.
