Woodside Outlines Strategy to Thrive Through Energy Transition
- Delivering long-term shareholder value by meeting rising global demand for affordable, reliable, lower-carbon energy
- Maximizing performance from base business and executing cash-generative growth projects
- Targeting a 50% increase in dividend per share from 2032
At its 2025 Capital Markets Day, Woodside Energy Group Ltd outlined its strategy to thrive through the energy transition and deliver long-term shareholder value by meeting rising global demand for affordable, reliable, lower-carbon energy. Chief Executive Officer Meg O'Neill highlighted Woodside's world-class assets, integrated value chain, long-term customer relationships, and strong balance sheet, which generate durable cash flows and have rewarded shareholders with approximately US$11 billion in dividends since 2022. Over the next decade, Woodside will execute its strategy by maximizing performance from its base business, delivering cash-generative projects to sustain and grow the business, and creating the next wave of future opportunities for long-term returns. The company is focused on safe, reliable operations and innovation to reduce costs and increase efficiencies. Woodside's major growth projects, including the Beaumont New Ammonia project, Scarborough Energy Project, offshore Mexico Trion field, and Louisiana LNG, are expected to capitalize on the forecast 60% growth in global LNG demand by 2035. The company's confidence in its future is founded on its long track record of sustainably growing and returning value to shareholders through the investment cycle.
By the early 2030s, Woodside's net operating cash flow is expected to rise to around US$9 billion, representing a more than 6% compound annual growth rate in sales and cash flow from 2024 and providing a pathway to a 50% increase in dividend per share from 2032.
Woodside is excited by the opportunities ahead, with its strategy supported by ongoing robust global demand for its products. The company is focused on maximizing performance from its base business, executing cash-generative growth projects, and creating the next wave of future opportunities to deliver long-term value for shareholders.
