Contact Energy Ltd has released its Monthly Operating Report for October 2025. The key highlights include:The Customer business recorded mass market electricity and gas sales of 385GWh, up from 320GWh in October 2024, with a mass market netback of $146.09/MWh compared to $133.29/MWh a year earlier. The Wholesale business saw contracted wholesale electricity sales, including that sold to the Customer business, total 997GWh, up from 699GWh in October 2024. Electricity and steam net revenue was $116.76/MWh, down from $136.30/MWh a year earlier, while unit generation cost, including acquired generation, was $35.93/MWh compared to $52.62/MWh in October 2024.Contact's renewable development projects continue to progress, with the Glenbrook-Ohurua BESS, Kowhai Park Solar, and Te Mihi Stage 2 geothermal projects all on track for completion in 2026 and 2027.Hydro storage levels remain elevated, with South Island controlled storage at 151% of mean and North Island controlled storage at 120% of mean as of 12th November 2025. Inflows into Contact's Clutha catchment for October 2025 were 195% of mean.The Otahuhu futures settlement wholesale price for the 1st quarter of 2026 has decreased from $172/MWh as at 30 September 2025 to $160/MWh as at 13 November 2025.
Contact's contracted gas volume (including contracted swaps) for the next 12 months is 9.5PJ, with contracted gas sales for the next 12 months totaling ~5PJ.
