Durack project update - high grade rare earths
- Recently returned rock chip assays from 'Chandler's Find' prospect returned exceptionally high-grade REE assays up to 9.65% TREO
- Monazite confirmed as the dominant REE-bearing mineral, a favourable mineral for commercial processing
- Exploration agreement executed with Australian Wildlife Conservancy, negotiations with Kimberley Land Council ongoing
BPM Minerals Ltd (ASX: BPM) has provided an exploration update for the Durack REE-Ti-Zr Project in Western Australia. Recently returned rock chip assays from the 'Chandler's Find' prospect have returned exceptionally high-grade REE results, including 9.65% TREO (Total Rare Earth Oxide) with 2.20% Nd2O3 + Pr6O11, 6.34% TREO with 1.44% Nd2O3 + Pr6O11, and 4.89% TREO with 1.06% Nd2O3 + Pr6O11. Petrography confirms the REE mineralisation is hosted within coarse-grained monazite, a favourable mineral for commercial processing. The company has also identified a further 4km strike of outcropping, high-grade REE-Zr-Ti mineralisation, significantly extending the footprint of the Chandler's Find prospect. An access agreement has been executed with the Australian Wildlife Conservancy, and negotiations are ongoing with the Kimberley Land Council. Tenure is expected to be granted shortly, paving the way for on-ground exploration activities in 2026.
The Durack project has the potential to deliver a major REE bearing resource in a new emerging REE district, with the high-grade, monazite-hosted mineralisation well-suited to supply future Australian and U.S. refineries with critical feedstock for the next generation of decarbonisation and defence technologies.
