Maiden drilling confirms significant gold system at La Brea
- All holes returned positive results with wide alteration zones and anomalous gold
- Outcomes mirror early drilling signatures observed at the 2Moz Ternera deposit
- Notable assay results include 1.12m @ 1.61g/t Au, 0.60m @ 4.19g/t Au, and 1.96m @ 2.17g/t Au
Tesoro Gold Limited has reported significant assay results from the maiden diamond drilling programme at the La Brea Target, part of the El Zorro Gold Project in Chile. All five holes (1,117m) drilled at La Brea returned positive results, having intersected favourable geology with wide alteration zones containing anomalous gold. The outcomes mirror the early drilling signatures observed at the nearby 2Moz (unconstrained) Ternera Gold Deposit, giving the Tesoro team considerable confidence that they are on the edge of a significant mineralised system. Notable assay results include 1.12m @ 1.61g/t Au, 0.60m @ 4.19g/t Au, 4.20m @ 0.56g/t Au (including 0.90m @ 1.92g/t Au), and 1.96m @ 2.17g/t Au. Broader anomalous zones were also encountered, such as 12.70m @ 0.19g/t Au and 37.90m @ 0.19g/t Au. Tesoro is planning additional drilling to further delineate the La Brea gold target, as part of a broader 38,000m drilling campaign across the El Zorro project, including infill, extensional, and new discovery drilling programmes.
Tesoro is currently operating three concurrent, fully funded, diamond drilling programmes scheduled for a total of approximately 38,000m, including infill drilling to support a Pre-feasibility Study, extensional drilling to define and extend the Ternera Deposit, and new discovery drilling focused on priority undrilled targets and follow-up on previous results at the Kitsune, Calderillas and Toro Blanco Targets.
