Contact Energy Reports November 2025 Operating Results

Contact Energy has released its November 2025 operating report, highlighting the following key points: The Customer business recorded mass market electricity and gas sales of 319GWh, up from 290GWh in November 2024, with a mass market netback of $138.75/MWh, up from $134.39/MWh. The Wholesale business recorded contracted wholesale electricity sales, including that sold to the Customer business, totalling 845GWh, up from 733GWh in November 2024. However, electricity and steam net revenue was $106.16/MWh, down from $115.81/MWh in the prior year. This was due to a rise in unit generation costs, which increased to $39.62/MWh from $34.43/MWh, including acquired generation. The company's own generation cost also increased to $32.1/MWh from $27.9/MWh. Renewable development projects, including the Glenbrook-Ohurua BESS, Kowhai Park Solar, and Te Mihi Stage 2 geothermal, remain on track with expected online dates in 2026 and 2027.
