Bapcor Limited (ASX: BAP) has announced the resignation of Angus McKay as Chief Executive Officer and the appointment of Chris Wilesmith as the new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, effective 14 January 2026. Chris Wilesmith is an experienced executive and non-executive director with extensive automotive aftermarket industry experience. He has held senior roles at Jaycar Electronics, Mitre 10 (New Zealand), and Super Retail Group, where he was the Managing Director of Supercheap Auto for seven years. Bapcor Chair Lachlan Edwards stated that Wilesmith's previous experience in growing businesses across Bapcor's segments will be critical in taking the company into its next phase of driving growth and performance. Combined with Craig Magill running the Trade and Networks segments, Bapcor now has two very strong and experienced leaders who have a deep understanding of the automotive aftermarket industry. Wilesmith will be assisted by the outgoing CEO Angus McKay during a transitional period.
