First Drill Hole Completed At Toro Central
Key Points
  • First diamond drill hole TMT-TC-DDH-001 completed to 705.60 meters, intersecting altered volcanic and volcaniclastic units with visually observed sulphides
  • Second drill hole underway 400m to the North to test continuity and extension of Ag, Cu and Zn mineralisation
  • MT/IP survey at Tambo South resumed, with completion expected within a fortnight
Full Summary

Belararox has completed the first diamond drill hole TMT-TC-DDH-001 at its Toro Central target in Argentina, reaching a depth of 705.60 meters. The drill hole targeted an IP chargeability anomaly identified from the recently completed combined Magnetotellurics (MT) and Induced Polarisation (IP) geophysical survey at the Toro South and Central targets. The hole intersected the targeted altered volcanic and volcaniclastic units containing visually observed sulphide minerals within the interval from 98.0m to 666.5m (568.5m). Sulphides observed occur as disseminations and veinlets and comprise predominantly iron sulphides (pyrite), with some minor fine-grained 'dark sulphides' that are potentially Cu, Ag and Zn-bearing. The observed sulphide assemblage and alteration style are consistent with the modelled IP chargeability and the company's exploration model. A second drill hole TMT-TC-DDH-002 is planned to confirm and extend the mineralisation identified in historical drilling, which included 266m @ 0.76% Zn, 14.6ppm Ag, 0.05ppm Au, 0.04% Cu and 0.09% Pb. Meanwhile, the combined MT/IP survey at the Tambo South target has resumed and is expected to be completed within a fortnight. Ongoing 3D geophysical data interpretation and modelling are also underway for the Toro Central and Toro South targets to further refine deeper copper porphyry targets.
