Sandstone Strategic Plan to Deliver Long-Life Production Hub
- Completion of M&A-led growth strategy delivering critical mass
- Targeting material Mineral Resource upgrades and Ore Reserve conversion
- Optimizing processing infrastructure for district-scale, long-life production
Brightstar Resources Ltd (ASX: BTR) has provided an update on its strategic plan to unlock the Sandstone Gold Project, a cornerstone of the company's strategy to become a multi-asset, mid-tier scale gold producer in Western Australia. The company's M&A-led growth strategy has delivered critical mass, with the consolidated portfolio now hosting over 4.0Moz of Mineral Resources across the Goldfields and Sandstone Hubs. Brightstar's focus has now shifted to operational delivery, with three drilling rigs mobilizing to Sandstone to commence infill and extensional drilling programs in 2026. The company is targeting a material upgrade in Mineral Resource classification to support a maiden Ore Reserve in the upcoming Pre-Feasibility Study, which is expected in early Q3 2026. Brightstar has determined that a 4-5Mtpa processing plant is optimal to leverage the shallow nature of the Sandstone deposits, with 1.6Moz of the 2.4Moz Mineral Resource located within 150m of surface. Following the PFS and Definitive Feasibility Study in 2027, Brightstar aims to make a Final Investment Decision and commence project development activities by the end of 2027, with future gold production from Sandstone anticipated to complement the targeted steady-state operations at the Goldfields Hub.
Brightstar has an aspirational project commencement date at Sandstone by year-end CY27, upon completion of a DFS, final approvals and permitting and a Final Investment Decision. Future gold production from Sandstone is anticipated to complement the targeted steady-state operations at Brightstar's Goldfields Hub once developed.
