VBX Limited's Quarterly Activities Report details the company's progress at its flagship Wuudagu bauxite project in Western Australia. The report highlights the completion of an infill drilling program that delivered a 51% increase in the Wuudagu Mineral Resource Estimate to 95.8 Mt at 39.5% Al2O3 and 13.7% SiO2, with 43% classified as Measured Resources and 56% as Indicated Resources. The exploration drilling program also discovered thicker, higher-grade bauxite outside the existing resource area at Wuudagu D, E and F. Metallurgical optimisation test work conducted as part of the Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) has delivered a 23% increase in product mass recovery to 72.9% compared to the previous Pre-Feasibility Study. The DFS scope has also been expanded, with an increase in the mining and beneficiation rate to 8-9 Mtpa, the selection of a bore field as the preferred water solution, and co-location of the barge loading and materials offloading facilities. Upcoming activities include completing the Wuudagu D, E and F Mineral Resource Estimate, finalising and lodging the Environmental Review Document, and completing the DFS. The report also provides an update on the favourable bauxite market conditions, with strong Chinese demand and global reliance on Guinean bauxite supply, as well as the company's corporate and financial position.
VBX has secured $2 million in additional funding to cover the expanded DFS scope and provide additional working capital. The company is also working with a leading global investment bank to finalise funding and offtake discussions with potential strategic partners.
