Ora Banda Mining Identifies Large-Scale Mineralisation at Round Dam
- Identification of up to six subparallel continuous gold lodes along the 7km Round Dam Trend
- Over 280 holes for 53,000 metres of drilling completed, with potential for high-grade ore shoot development
- Significant intercepts demonstrate potential for both high-grade and bulk tonnage open pit mining opportunities
Ora Banda Mining Ltd (ASX: OBM) has reported further exceptional drill results from its current Phase 1 drilling program at the Round Dam project. The Round Dam Trend is an 18km long north-south striking mineralised corridor running from Waihi in the north to Salmon Gums in the south, with the company systematically exploring a 7.5km section of this trend. The Phase 1 drilling program has completed 330 holes for 62,000 metres, with around 53,000 metres (281 holes) drilled to date. The results have identified the potential for large-scale surface mining opportunities, enhanced by the additional identification of numerous high-grade mineralised shoots. Key highlights include the identification of up to six subparallel continuous gold lodes along the trend, with significant intercepts demonstrating the potential for both high-grade ore shoot development and bulk tonnage open pit mining. The company's geological understanding of the mineralisation continues to grow, with observations indicating the potential for high-grade shoot development where inflections in the ultramafic contacts are observed, as well as increased width and grade in the eastern sediments. The Round Dam project is located only 15km from Ora Banda's existing Davyhurst processing infrastructure, providing the potential for rapid resource development.
Ora Banda is continuing to systematically explore the open pit and underground mining potential along the 7.5km section of the 18km long Round Dam Trend, with the potential to become a mine in short order supporting the company's organic growth strategy.
