1H26 Results Investor Presentation
- Statutory profit (after tax) of $13.9m, up 13.0% vs 2H25
- Net credit loss to ANR remained low at 2.0%
- Cost to income ratio of 57.4% including irregular items
hummgroup reported a statutory profit (after tax) of $13.9m in 1H26, down 49.1% compared to 1H25 but up 13.0% compared to 2H25. The decrease from 1H25 was driven by anticipated higher credit losses in the Commercial portfolio as a result of portfolio seasoning, the absence of a prior-period benefit from an ECL provision release, and higher irregular items including an increase in the Forum Finance litigation provision. Net interest income was up 2.9% on pcp, with net operating income up 2.6%. Assets under management increased 1.3% on pcp but declined 1.9% vs 2H25 to $5.4b, reflecting continued growth in Commercial receivables offset by softness in humm AU and negative FX impact. The company provided transparency on specific P&L items, including legal and regulatory adjustments, elevated Consumer duplicate system costs, STI and LTI true-ups, and NZD FX impacts.
