Aeris to Acquire Peel Mining in Strategic Copper Deal
- Strengthens Aeris' position as a leading mid-tier copper and gold producer
- Expands Tritton's resource base to over 500kt of contained copper
- Mallee Bull to become a near-term, high-grade ore source for Tritton
- Wirlong is a highly prospective exploration project with future development potential
Aeris Resources Ltd is acquiring Peel Mining Ltd in a strategic move to expand its copper and gold production capabilities. The acquisition will significantly increase Aeris' resource base, with the combined Tritton and South Cobar Copper Project containing over 500kt of contained copper. This will position Tritton for a +10 year mine life, with the advanced Mallee Bull deposit expected to become a near-term, high-grade ore source for the Tritton processing plant. Mallee Bull has a 6.3Mt resource at 1.92% copper and 0.35g/t gold, with an exploration decline already approved. The highly prospective Wirlong project, with a 4.3Mt resource at 1.75% copper, also offers future development potential. Aeris plans to complete an integration study within 6 months to optimize the combined operation. The transaction strengthens Aeris' position as a leading Australian mid-tier copper and gold producer.
Aeris expects the acquisition of Peel Mining to position its flagship Tritton Operations for a +10 year mine life, with Mallee Bull providing a new high-grade base load ore source.
The acquisition of Peel Mining's South Cobar Copper Project provides significant growth upside for Aeris and Peel shareholders, with both Mallee Bull and Wirlong projects remaining open at depth and offering further exploration and development potential.
